Meet the Host for the Great American Road Rally: Ian Ziering

The Engines Are Almost Ready To Start!

This Wednesday, September 16, The Great American Road Rally: Celebrity Edition begins its journey on The CW—and now it's time to introduce the man leading the way:

Ian Ziering

Many viewers will immediately recognize Ian from his years as Steve Sanders on Beverly Hills, 90210 and from the wildly popular Sharknado film series. But for The Great American Road Rally, Ian is trading Hollywood for America's Mother Road as host of a 2,211-mile adventure from Chicago to Santa Monica.

And this isn't just another road trip.

The Rally brings together celebrity teams, classic American cars, historic Route 66 communities and charitable causes for a journey celebrating 100 years of Route 66 during America's 250th anniversary year.

More Than a Road Trip

That's one of the reasons Carpe Artista is so excited to be part of this adventure.

The Rally isn't simply about who is behind the wheel or which car reaches the next destination. Every mile is being driven for a cause.

Carpe Artista is represented along the journey in conjunction with the James Burton Foundation, carrying our mission—and our Core Values of Character, Calling, Craft and Community—down one of America's most legendary highways.

And Ian is not only the host... He is leading the pack driving the pace car.

Over ten days, the Rally traveled from the Chicago area through communities including St. Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque and beyond before eventually reaching the Pacific at Santa Monica.

And Carpe Artista Was Along for the Ride

Here's where this story gets especially fun for us.

Carpe Artista Board Chairman Rob Evras and CEO Ron Alley traveled with the Rally on its Route 66 journey.

That means we have some stories to tell.

As the episodes begin airing, we'll be taking you behind the scenes through a new Carpe Artista blog series:

ON THE ROUTE WITH ROB & RON

While Ian leads the journey on television, Rob and Ron will share some of what happened behind the cameras and between the stops—the people they met, conversations they had, challenges they experienced and what it was like watching the Carpe Artista story travel across America.

And yes, there were some pretty interesting people riding along.

We're going to save those stories for the road ahead.

The Journey Begins Wednesday

So this Wednesday, we hope you'll join us.

Watch the Rally. Follow Carpe's journey. Put your Heart behind our mission. And come back each week for On the Route with Rob & Ron. Share the word.
